Adoption Application for Small Animals

Do research on the necessary care, housing and habitat (taking into account the correct cage/ enclosure size required) on the type of small animal that you are interested in adopting: rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, ferrets, birds, reptiles etc, to make sure they are the right pet for you and your lifestyle.

Register your interest in a small animal on our website by filling out the application form below.

An adoption consultant from the Small Animal Team will send you an email within a week of receiving your application.

Once you have been approved to adopt a small animal, an appointment will be made for you to come to the shelter to complete your adoption and take your new family member home with you.

Please note that filling out an application form does not mean the animal is reserved for you. A member of our team will be in touch to discuss your suitability and will tell you if you have been successful or not. 

Adoption fees:

The adoption fee is paid on the adoption day at the centre.

Rabbit – €100
Guinea pig – €35
Ferret – €100
Birds and reptiles vary.
