As Supervisor, you will work as part of the Management Team, supporting the day-to-day running of the Pet Hotel and Doggie Daycare. You will oversee the care and wellbeing of our animal guests, ensure that all team duties are completed to a high standard, and help maintain a clean, safe, and enriching environment for the animals in our care.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Managing the daily operations of the Pet Hotel and Doggie Daycare.
  • Delegate tasks effectively and fairly among team members, ensuring responsibilities are clearly communicated and completed to standard.
  • Oversee and participate in animal care duties, including feeding, cleaning, administering medication, and providing exercise and enrichment.
  • Ensure that daily checklists and cleaning protocols are completed to the highest standard across all areas.
  • Supervise team members on shift, providing support and ensuring tasks are carried out efficiently and with care.
  • Monitor the health and behaviour of animals and report any concerns promptly.
  • Liaise with clients during drop-off and collection, offering clear communication and reassurance regarding their pets.
  • Assist in training new staff members, volunteers and students; setting an example in animal handling, hygiene, and customer care.
  • Support the management of stock and supplies, reporting low levels or maintenance needs.
  • Help uphold a clean, organised, and safe working environment at all times.
  • Step into a leadership role in the absence of the Manager, ensuring continuity of operations.

 

Qualifications & Personal Qualities

  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in animal care, pet boarding, or a similar environment.
  • Previous team leadership or supervisory experience essential.
  • Strong understanding of animal welfare, behaviour, and basic care requirements.
  • Confident and comfortable handling a variety of dog breeds and sizes, as well as cats.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support and guide team members.
  • Highly organised and proactive, with the ability to manage time and prioritise tasks in a busy environment.
  • Positive, team-focused attitude with a hands-on approach to work.
  • Comfortable liaising with clients and addressing concerns in a professional, friendly manner.
  • Ability to remain calm and effective in a fast-paced or high-pressure setting.
  • Weekend and holiday availability is required.
