Earlier today we received a call from concerned member of the public about a fox that was trapped in the front basement of a residential property in Dublin 2, with no way out.
NSPCA inspectors responded facing a frightened and vulnerable wild animal in a confined space. With expert handling, a great deal of care, and minimal stress, the fox was safely secured and lifted out of danger.
Thankfully, this story has a happy ending. After the successful rescue, the fox was transported and released back into a nearby safe environment, where he could return to his natural habitat.
Another life saved, thanks to the public and to the rescue work of the NSPCA.
