Blitzen originally came into the NSPCA in a very poor condition. She was extremely emaciated and showed signs of recently having reared a foal. She also had severe muscle wastage, particularly in her hindquarters, and needed significant care and rehabilitation.
Since then, Blitzen has made wonderful progress. With time, proper nutrition and care, she has regained strength and confidence. She now lives comfortably with a group of other equines and gets along well in their company.
Blitzen has also built trust with people and is good for catching and leading when handled by those she knows. She has behaved well for both the farrier and the vet, showing just how far she has come in her journey.
She will need an experienced and understanding home that can continue to support her needs and provide the right environment for her to thrive. Any potential home must have an equine premises number, along with suitable space, shelter, secure fencing and an appropriate equine companion.
Blitzen has shown incredible resilience and deserves a home where she can continue to feel safe and cared for.
