Obi came into the NSPCA originally from another rescue in search of her forever home. She waited almost 10 months to find her forever home and was then adopted. She was in her home for two years and unfortunately due to the arrival of a new baby, she has found herself back in the shelter in search of a new home. Staff are heartbroken to see our sweet girl back and sadly she is the shell of the Obi we once knew. She is gradually building trust back up in people and feeling confident to make choices. Staff have been doing training around socialisation and confidence building and will benefit from force free, positive reinforcement training with her new family to help her settle into a new environment. We would love to find her a home with a family who will understand it has been a tough transition for her and will give her the time, patience and love she deserves. She will suit a home with teenagers or adults that are experienced owners of her breed and will be best suited to being the only dog in her home.

From the moment she came into our lives, she’s shown just how resilient and loving she truly is. When she first arrived, she was a little anxious, especially outside and around unfamiliar things. She was shy and unsure of the world. Obi progressed to thriving on adventures, with her absolute favorite being trips to the beach where she can chase seagulls and splash around in the water. She also loves exploring the woods and fields on her daily walks-nature is her happy place. While Obi has a ton of energy and zest for life, she’s also the perfect cuddle buddy. Whether it’s relaxing on the couch with her humans or quietly hanging out while we work, she’s always up for some cozy downtime. Obi’s playful side comes out when she’s fetching or playing with her plush toys. She’s a quick learner and always ready to show off what she’s learned. She knows tricks such as paw and spin along with lots of basic obedience exercises. Obi is a sweet, clever, and loyal companion who will bring so much joy.
