Meet the lovely Serena! Serena came into the NSPCA from another rescue in search of her forever home. She was picked up after she had been straying for some time. On arriving to the shelter, she was shut down and extremely nervous. Serena finds it hard to trust humans and it is clear she has had a tough time in her short life. As her personality has started to show, we are seeing many playful puppy moments and we know in time she will grow into an outgoing and confident girl. Serena thrives when she is with other dogs and when she is playing her worries are forgotten. Because of this, a confident and playful doggie pal in her new home will be a must. Serena will need a family committed to meeting her a few times here at the shelter and will be understanding that she will need a lot of time and patience to become settled into her new home environment. She will be best suited to a quiet adult home, experienced with nervous dogs. When her confidence grows, we can see her being a normal teenage boisterous dog, so her new family will also need to be comfortable with this too. She will benefit from training with her new family to help her adapt to home life and continue to develop into a happy adult dog.
