As Ireland’s national animal welfare charity, we recognise the importance of maintaining the trust and confidence of our supporters, volunteers, partners, and the wider public. Strong governance ensures that we remain focused on our mission to protect animals, prevent cruelty and create lasting change for animal welfare across Ireland
Our Board of Directors provides strategic oversight and guidance, ensuring the organisation is governed responsibly and operates in accordance with its charitable objectives, legal obligations and best practice standards.
The Board is supported by the NSPCA’s leadership team, staff and volunteers, who work together to ensure that resources are managed effectively and that all decisions are made in the best interests of the animals and communities we serve.

Governance & Compliance
The NSPCA is committed to complying with all relevant legislation, regulatory requirements and governance best practice.
We commit to reviewing our organisational practice against the recommended actions every 3 years. The NSPCA is fully compliant with the CRA’s Governance Code. (May I suggest annually)
We regularly review our policies, procedures and governance framework to ensure we operate responsibly, ethically, and transparently. Our governance practices support effective decision-making, financial stewardship and accountability to our supporters, stakeholders and the animals in our care.
Through strong governance, we ensure that every donation, partnership, and programme contributes towards our mission of improving animal welfare and protecting animals across Ireland.
