Lucy was transferred into NSPCA Dublin from another shelter and hasn’t had the easiest start in life, experiencing a lot of instability. Despite this, she is a big, bouncy, and lovable girl who greets everyone she meets with enthusiasm and a wagging tail.
Out on walks, Lucy loves to stop and say hello to everyone, soaking up as much attention as she can! She enjoys exploring new places and smells, and after a good adventure, she’s more than happy to relax at home, curled up beside her favourite people.
As a teenage dog, Lucy will need a home committed to continuing her training so she can grow into the well-mannered companion we know she can be. She is very strong on the lead and, at 35kg with more growing still to do, will require an experienced owner familiar with larger breeds. She is a typical boisterous teenager, who can be very jumpy and still in her play biting phase, so will require a family who are comfortable and happy to work on her training to help manage this.
Lucy would thrive in an active home that can provide both mental and physical stimulation to keep her happy and engaged. Due to her size and bouncy nature, she would be best suited to a home with teenagers or adults only, who can match her energy. Lucy could potentially live with another confident, playful dog of similar size and energy, pending a meet.
More than anything, Lucy needs stability, patience, and a family dedicated to helping her settle and succeed.
