Little Rice is a 4 year old dwarf rabbit who came into the shelter after his owner had to move abroad. Initially, he really struggled with the change and took a long time to begin to feel comfortable. He was very picky in what he ate so we think he may not have been on an amazing diet, but he’s coming around to the more healthy choices now. Rice is very skeptical of people initially but with the right family who are used to rabbit behaviour, he’s going to really shine. We also think another rabbit, preferably a spayed female, would be amazing for him to really bring him out of his shell and teach him that life can be enjoyed! Rice loves veggies like romaine lettuce and parsley and he likes having somewhere comfortable to nap as he silently judges you. If you have a spayed female bun and think you could offer Rice a chance of happiness, please apply to adopt him 🙂

Thank you for choosing to adopt a rabbit from the NSPCA. Please make sure to do your research on how to care for a small animal before considering adopting. We recommend rabbits be kept indoors with an enclosure that’s a minimum of 140 x 60cm with plenty of indoor free roam time.

Rabbits require proper housing, bedding, food, enrichment, exercise and vet visits. Small animals are not pets for young children to look after, all the family must be on board to look after and care for any new pet coming into the home. We have seen too many being abandoned so please make sure that you are in a position to look after them and provide them with everything they need.

All our rabbits are microchipped, vaccinated and spayed/neutered.
